Dr. Marquis Peacock
Dr. Peacock was raised in a small town in North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergraduate studies where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies with a minor in Chemistry. His next stop was UNC’s School of Medicine where he discovered his passion for treating mental illness. This led him to pursue further psychiatry training at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. While in Texas, he trained in psychopharmacology as well as insight-oriented and problem-focused therapies. He has extensive experience treating a variety of mental illnesses ranging from anxiety and depression to schizophrenia and has worked in community, hospital, and office-based settings.
Dr. Peacock decided to start Bespoke Psychiatry because he wanted to practice psychiatry beyond the “standard of care”. His vision for ideal mental health care is holistic and factors in physical, mental, emotional, social and sleep health. His goal is to target negative patterns of behavior and thoughts while there is still time to correct them. The faster these patterns are broken, the more likely a person is to achieve the life that he or she values.
Outside of the office, Dr. Peacock’s interests include hiking, fragrance making, active sports (basketball, tennis, biking), anime, and cooking.
